YELEEN AFRICA INNOVATIONS

We’re innovators of a higher standard, using cutting-edge technologies to boost the Solar energy in Africa Sub-Sahara.

Yeleen-Africa is a social enterprise in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.   “Yeleen means “light” or “daylight” in the West African Bambara language, to show that our primary mission is to use the sun, modern photovoltaic utility-scale solar systems and LED (light-emitting diode) to bring light to the streets, village commons areas and playgrounds in Burkina Faso.  Yeleen-Africa also plans innovative development of other uses of solar power such as, water irrigation for farmers and sanitized drinking water.

OUR MISSION:

  • To develop innovative, reliable, low-cost and effective off-grid street lighting systems for West Africa, and to fund their installation with sustainable business models.

  • To end energy poverty in West Africa sub-Saharan by 2025 by innovative development of solar power systems designed to meet the operating conditions of the Sahel.

  • To drive toward zero climate-changing emissions of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere by increasing use of solar power.

  • To facilitate the adoption of large scale-utility of solar power plant by using the latest technologies.
